WELCOME!
Come on in 8th Annual Bull Sale Black & Red Angus and Maine Anjou
FARM PROFILE Mission: To raise easy doing, thick cattle that have width between the pins. Angus is now one of the largest breeds in Canada. The solid colour brings a premium at the auction marts. The Certified Angus Beef initiative has brought an additional demand for Angus calves. The cows are very low maintenance and hardy to the harsh prairie conditions. They are excellent mothers and the calves are born vigorous and energetic. Their low maintenance and excellent mothering ability helps to reduce the work load, especially during calving. We admire their depth of body and the quality of milk they produce MAINE-ANJOU We first got into Maine-Anjou in 1989. We have Black and Red, Purebred, Percentage and maintainers’. We admired their overall muscling and exceptional thickness. Because of their excellent feed conversion and docile behavior Feedlots can’t get enough of them. They top the market every time. Their friendly and docile behavior is typical of the breed which makes them ideal for 4-H projects and especially appreciated at calving time. Lazy H Farm is a family owned business, started in 1975 near Maymont, Saskatchewan. This beautiful area lies only 3 miles from the scenic North Saskatchewan River. The Farm focuses on raising top quality beef cattle. The beef production consists of both the Angus and Maine-Anjou breeds as purebred and commercial. Lazy H Farm has shown their cattle in Western Canada for over 30 years. The many Champion banners adorning the walls attest to the show-ability and functionality of the herd. Our cattle are sold privately off the farm We calve January through March, and aim to wean our calves in September/October weighing in at 700lbs. To stay on our farm, the cows must have lots of milk and be easy doing.
